It has not been since I was a little girl that I actually felt deep down pride in this country. The swelling of the heart that makes tears come to the eyes. But, with the election of Barack Obama, I feel that sense of deep pride again. We are again the beacon of hope in the world. We have overcome the petty mean-spiritedness of politics as usual and created an election result that stunned the world!
I don’t believe ever in my adult life have I seen a single moment in time change the landscape of my perception of my own fellow citizens. They voted for progress. They ingnored, or were turned off by, the irrational attacks upon Obama: He is a Muslim, he was not born here, he has a strange name (Yeah, he doesn’t have a slave name like most American Blacks. Like wow…dopes!) The thinly veiled racism did not play well in America. It didn’t play well most anywhere here.
My fellow countrymen you have made me proud of YOU. I am proud to call you my fellow Americans. I am proud and hopeful that you are here to help rebuild this country in such tough times. I am proud and touched that I can trust the American people again. We have reached the promised land, at least for a moment, and we did it together.
I love my country also, we are getting closer to seeing our new President elect become President of the USA in a few weeks.He will begin in the midst of a Huge War that has BEGUN in the Middle East(Gaza><Hamas).It will be most VITAL to see how HE will deal with this.America has always been a strong supporter of Israel and with good reason.(God will bless the Nation who helps her)If we turn our back on Israel God will turn his back on us.I know many think and blame Israel for this act of war………….But it was necessary for them to finish this to the vital end,(they are fighting TERRORIST.)REMEMBER THIS! TERRORIST HATE THE USA AND WANT US DESTROYED…ALONG WITH ISRAEL….It is very sad much blood shed will come about as this war continues,who knows how far it will go,it could very well lead to the greatest blood bath battle of all….”ARMEGEDON”
I pray God gives our SOON TO BE PRESIDENT “The Wisdom and Courage to make the right decisions for the safety of us all.May God bless America and Israel………..and continue to pray for the “Peace of Jerusalem”
